January 8, 2016

“Pindi” The word sounds interesting right? Yes, it’s a new North Indian restaurant which arrived to Namma Bengaluru all the way from Pandara Road, Delhi. Well, I am sure everyone from North India must have heard & visited this 67 years old North Indian restaurant in Delhi. The Pindi name had come from Rawalpindi along with the founder. Yes, the founder is from Rawalpindi and after the Independence, he relocated to Delhi and started this restaurant.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t get a chance to visit in Delhi. However, I recently got an opportunity to visit Pindi Bangalore along with few foodie friends for a dinner. I was very curious in the first instance, since it’s one of the finest & legendary restaurants in Delhi, which is another food lover’s paradise like Bangalore.

The first thing which attracts every guest is ambiance & décor. The place offers very decent & calm décor in both indoor & rooftop. On one of the walls of indoor section has a good caricature showcasing the lifestyle of old Delhi, that’s one of the positive points to appeal this place. The seating at Pindi is comfortable for every age group to dine without any hassles. I honestly liked the complete setting without any complaints.

One thing I will always keep in my mind, when I visit any legendary restaurant, that’s taking an advice from restaurant people in choosing a right dish. Because I don’t want to finish my meal with a bad note! As per their recommendation, we ordered Shahi Veg Tandoori Platter, Non Veg Tandoori Platter, Paneer Kurkure, Veg Jalfrezi, Dal Makhni, Makhani Paneer Masala, Veg Biryani, Jeera Rice, Gulab Jamoon & Fruit Cream.

Shahi Veg Tandoori Platter – A platter consists of Aachari Paneer Tikka, Veg Galauti Kebab, Bharwan Aloo and Tandoor Mushrooms. It was presented nicely with lemony onion salad! We loved every dish in the platter and tastes upright.

Paneer Kurkure – Now days I see this fusion in every good restaurant without fail & everyone have their own style of making & presenting to the guests. In Pindi, the Paneer coated with Chutney & Crushed Poppadum. A deep fried dish served with Spicy Green Chutney. The dish gave us a lingering taste without chutney also! A must try Vegetarian starter in Pindi Bangalore.

Veg Jalfrezi – It’s again a fusion I would say, since I have seen so many exotic vegetables like bell peppers in the dish and tossed perfectly with Indian Spices.

Dal Makhni – An authentic dish of North India & its rich, smooth, appetizing & mild spiced. This dish goes perfectly with all sorts of Indian Breads.

Makhani Paneer Masala – Paneer was soft & marinated perfectly. The flavor just bursts in every bite! The dish has a very good texture & decent portions.

Veg Biryani – My satisfied meal never complete without Rice. The Biryani over here is a typical North Indian Style and would rather call it Masala rice. They personally not advise this dish to anyone.

Fruit Cream – It looks small but heavy in your tummy! You shouldn’t miss it after your main course.

It was a gratified meal with discussions, learnings and conversations. The service is really good. As they dint took much time to serve our orders.

I will definitely recommend this Place & will visit again to try few other dishes shortly!
