The Kebab Room added to my wish list after they got a Times Food award for Best North Indian in Bangalore. I thought this place is famed only for non-veg kebabs, so I was just shelving to visit. I have seen this restaurant when I visited Chili’s. Again this is situated in busy 100 ft road at Indiranagar and easy to pinpoint. I happened to visit this place for a towntrendz foodie meet up. I was invited for a buffet lunch at 1 pm and reached on time, as there was no traffic on Sunday. By the time I reached most of the tables were empty and got a chance to take more number of pictures.

Entrance of this restaurant cum microbrewery is quite attired and Kebab Room is located in first floor. They have vapour in 2nd Floor that’s one of the best pubs in Bangalore. Well, kebab room is part of Vapour. I was able relax happily on one of the dining tables earmarked for towntrendz. Chairs were comfortable though. I got my sweet and salt lime soda on my table as a starter drink and it was good enough.

Kebab room is also famous for their micro-breweries, so I asked for samples after i done with lime soda and they served 4 assortments of in-house beers. I was bit disappointed because they dint had Basmati beer (One of the best selling beer in Kebab Room) but somehow I managed with the wheat beer which is also very good and tastes excellent if you are a microbrewery lover. I tried one coffee based beer which was again good but not up to Wheat beer. I tried regular Mojito and Cranberry Orange based Mojito, i felt it was very light compare to the other pubs in Bangalore.

Ambiance is great with lot of wood finished walls with wall papered paintings. Brewery unit is visible to dining area through a clear glass. Christmas season made the place even more delightful with superfluous decor and Christmas tree in one of the corners.

This is unquestionably apt place to go with loved ones, families and friends.
Now it’s time to talk about food, they have fixed buffet menu which includes Appetizers, Main Course and desserts. There is no buffet spread here but they will serve directly on your table. So you need not to go each and every time with a plate 🙂

Below are the dishes which is part of set menu.

Soups: They served tomato soup which was absolutely not acceptable; it was more like a tomato rasam.

Appetizers:

1.Panner Tikka – Panner was soft but taste was bit lacking and definitely needs some improvement to make it better
2. Veg Galouti Kebab – Tried for the first time and it was quite unique.
3. Corn Kebab – Grilled properly and tastes good with light spices.
4. Subz Shammi – Oh my god, It was just melting in my mouth and I wonder how did they prepare it. Trust me it’s one of the ultimate dish to start your meal.
5. Bharwan Tandoori Aloo – I tried this dish before as well in some other restaurant but the name was aloo lazabdar. I felt potato was not boiled properly and it was bit hard.

Roti’s and Naan’s were blameless and honestly there is nothing to describe about it. You will be happy only if the curries are really good with Indian breads. The Kebab Room gets full marks in that category. Dal Makhani was just incredible with lot of cream, I am a spicy food lover and I usually I avoid Dal Makhani if I go out. After I tasted here, I would love to order in future.

Paneer Burji was again virtuous and I tried here after a long time. We usually don’t get Paneer Burji everywhere, perhaps that’s a reason I might have not tried in a recent times. Paneer burji was medium spiced and tastes well.

Veg Biryani was really great and it wasn’t an authentic biryani but taste was so good with lot of Indian spices and smells lovely. You don’t believe i filled my stomach completely with Biryani. I strongly applaud this dish in Kebab Room.

Desserts were Shahi Thukda, Ferni and Moong dal halwa. I am not a dessert lover and I tried just 1 spoon each of them. I felt Moong Dal Halwa needed of ghee.

It was a great experience and they have to concentrate on little things in starters to make even better and to create a strong customer base.

This place is suitable for the people who like more tasty starters than the main course with affordable pricing.

Overall:
Quality: 3.75/5
Taste: 3.5/5
Ambiance: 4/5
VFM: 4/5
