Time to Rejuvenate at Enerjuvate, Jayanagar, Bangalore

February 16, 2017

Imagine a choice of foods that were tasty, nutritious and good for your health – i.e. they helped you maintain a healthy body weight, improved your overall mood, and reduced your risk of rising diseases. Are we getting this kind of food? Certainly not, when it comes to tasty food! According to me, healthy food will not be tasty. Since there will be no proper seasoning, spice and salt levels. Now that trend is changed, Recipe developers do lot of research and put their experience to curate the dishes which matches or may be better than our regular food.

The reason why I am talking about healthy food is, I have recently been to a café by name “Enerjuvate” in Jayanagar upon Invitation. I was totally overwhelmed with taste of the dishes served over here. Before going about food, let me talk about the décor at “Enerjuvate” – A passionate co-owner has worked really hard to design a place by keeping natural elements in mind. That’s why; one can see Plants in every floor. Also, she used colors to give impeccable looks.

There was a Yoga Session for us and post that, we got to try some healthy smoothies and I totally loved the Chili Orange more than others because of the blistering after taste.

The small portions of 4 different salads arrived on table which includes Watermelon Delight, Thai Guava Salad, Corn & Black Rice Salad and Barley Sprouts Kuchumbar. I would say these salads were extremely good. My picks would be Watermelon Delight where, they have tossed the watermelon cubes in vegan sauce and garnished with onions and pumpkin seeds. This would be suitable for any palate! Being a Non Salad lover, I dint have any regrets on this dish. Whereas, Thai Guava Salad was presented very well and tasted better than the expectation. The salad had Guavas, Peanuts, lettuce, spring onions and chunks of chilies. The Salad was sweet and spice type! Avocado, Corn & Black Rice Salad was decent though. However, Avocado was not present on that day in the salad. The salad was colorful with bell peppers and amalgamated perfectly with black rice.

In Main Course, I opted for Tomato Rasam and Cold Red Rice Salad – This actually comes under a soup category. But quite filling because of the portion size of rice salad and Rasam! I wasn’t too impressed with Red Rice Salad, felt the rice was dry. However, Tomato rasam was insanely good with right spice level and tanginess. Followed by Soup & this rice salad, we got scrambled tofu with bell peppers, baby spinach with red bell pepper dip in a pinky beet flavored base. The wrap could have been better as I felt wrap was too dry. Next dish was Ragi Vegetable Pan Cakes which was again dry and could sense the raw flavor.

Well, they also have Pizzas on the menu. Please note, you can’t expect Italian crust pizzas. However, these pizzas were curated using healthy ingredients. But there is Pesto Pizza to cheat your meal 😛 The Pesto Pizza topped with Tomato, Onion and Broccoli with loads of cheese. Highly recommended pizza. Their healthy version of Pizza made the thin crust dough with Ragi and topped with Caramelized apple, bird eye chili, garlic and feta cheese – This is my favorite because of the bird eye chili, I thoroughly enjoyed the Pizzas without any complaints. This version of Pizza cannot be compared because of the unique quality and taste.

Our lunch ended with Strawberry, Banana and Basil Nice Cream and Tri-color, orange, kiwi and vanilla chia seed cake (Tribute to Republic Day)

Overall it was a unique experience and I will definitely visit again!

Note: The meal was complementary. However, this write-up is completed based on my experience and not influenced by anyone.
