A Memorable Chinese New Year Lunch at Shang Palace, Shangri-La, Bengaluru.

February 8, 2016

Being a Legendary Hospitality institution Shangri-La has spread the joy of serving around the world. With its inception in namma Bengaluru it has offered an opportunity to explore multiple cuisines under one roof. Chinese cuisine one of the popular cuisines definitely has made its mark as Shang Palace with the group. My earlier blog post has introduced Shang Palace, but this post adds colors as it speaks all about celebration of Chinese New Year. DSC06754.JPG

The Chinese New Year also called the Spring Festival is celebrated on February 8th this year. Festival calls for celebration accompanied with traditional practices. Food plays prime role in all of the festivals and celebrations, being a foodie it was a great opportunity for me to try out authentic Chinese dishes with the flair of celebration at Shang Palace. The restaurant was completely decorated to welcome the New Year with zeal and it signified the tradition of the Chinese festival.

As we entered into the place, the ever smiling staff rendered a warm welcome and led us to our table. Chinese tea (AMUSE BOUCHE) being part of their festive lunch followed by Spinach salad, Veg Spring rolls and Pumpkin Soup with Asparagus. In Main Course, we tried Mapo Tofu, Stir fried Chinese cabbage with glass noodles, Chinese boiled dumpling, Stir fried broccoli, Stir fried tofu skin with mushroom, Stir fried longevity noodles vegetable and Vegetable fried rice. Well, all these dishes were authentic and it’s bliss for every Chinese cuisine lover. Since, it was my 2nd Visit to Shang Palace and I knew the food & experience over here! My Pictures speak about the taste & quality to be honest.

However, after trying here she started loving Chinese cuisine and I am sure these dishes make her crave again. The time we spent over Shang Palace is definitely a memorable and that’s all because of the folks at Shang Palace. They are experts in taking care of their guests. It’s a perfect place to go with loved ones and I personally love to celebrate every special occasion in Shangri-La! There is a Magic in this place and I don’t even feel like stepping out of the place.

Post lunch, we visited 18th floor to see the beauty of Bengaluru and the view from there is Incredible. Since, Shangri-La Bengaluru is in Prime Location!

Yes, our meal was finished with a beautiful & eye catching Poached pears and nian gao pancake which taste divine. A Nian gao pancake is crispy outside and just bursts the essence after the first bite! One must definitely experience it!
