Fruit Jams Without Artificial Flavors and Preservatives – Orchard Lane Jams

June 9, 2015

Fruit Jam is something which helps all the time whether its day or night. I always prefer to strike my hunger at times! There are so many Fruit Jam manufacturing companies in the world and some of them are market champions with strong customer base all over. In my experience I tried numerous products and I feel the taste is not consistent and loaded with artificial flavors and colors! Those Jams especially bright in color and not good for health prospective.

Personally I am bored of the Fruit Jams which is available in Market, while checking online I noticed this “Orchard Lane” fruit Jam and while browsing I find these Jams are quite interesting!
Well, I saw that they don’t use any artificial flavors or colors for the preparation which is mentioned on their site. So decided to try out!

Yes, I placed an order for Apple & Pineapple, Orange Marmalade and Pear Pomegranate. All three products were delivered on committing time which is commendable. I also had a second thought, what if these Jams are not good? So many things had come to my mind.

Just to try out these Jams, I grabbed nice Bread at Supermarket and it was a good evening, opened an Orange Marmalade bottle and noticed so many chopped orange peels in a Jam. Initially I had a strange feeling, but realized these peels are good for health. The peel holds rather higher levels of vitamin C (ascorbic acid) than its juice. 100 g of fresh orange-peel provides 136 mg per 100 g of vitamin C while its flesh contains just about 71 mg/100 g.

Taste of the Orange Marmalade is terrific and made me satisfied, nourished & refreshed. It is lip smacking! At my home, everyone liked it and decided to stop getting traditional jams!

Followed by this, I opened Apple & Pineapple Bottle – Oh my goodness, this is such a wonderful Jam with chunks of Pineapple and richness of Fresh Apple made it blissful feel. The Apple & Pineapple jam is a light yellow colored mix of sweet and sour. It almost has a tropical touch and goes well with toasts, cakes and pancakes.

We all know that “Apple a day, keeps the doctor away”. Yes, regular consumption of apple will help you in decreasing the risk of diabetes, reduces cholesterol, prevent gallstones and the Neutralize irritable bowel syndrome. Although, Pineapple helps in Asthma Prevention, Blood Pressure and Cancer. “there are studies suggesting that bromelain [found in pineapple] and other such enzymes may be used with standard cancer treatment to help reduce some side effects (such as mouth and throat inflammation due to radiation treatments).”

After knowing all these things, I am sure you will not say “No”.
I was not in a position to try Pear and Pomegranate, guess after a couple of days I tried the Pomegranate and it tastes decent and felt warm and soothing! In this one there are chunks of pears in Pomegranate Jam. Pears are rich in Carbohydrates, Dietary Fiber and Vitamin C. Pear fruit also help in preventing from Cancer, Blood Pressure and Fever.

They also have seasonal favorites and wanted to try out those asap.

At Orchard Lane, they make low sugar, preservative free jams using traditional French methods of marinating. They also do not use any preservatives or artificial flavors, colors or additives.
These Jams were packed with all the standards and would say “Best in Class” without compromise!
I was told that Orchard Lane Jams should be consumed in 4 weeks, once opened. However we can keep it in refrigerator for long shelf life.
