Weekend Getaway for Good Breakfast – Nani Hotel, Vijayapura

September 14, 2017

My love of South Indian Breakfast took me to various places and Nani Hotel in Vijayapura is one among in recent times. Thanks to my friends who understood my craving and did accompany me to visit here after a couple of decades. Nani Hotel is a hotspot for some of the bikers, long drive lovers and foodies. Though I had been here, the last visit was something I will remember for lifetime.

What’s so special about Nani Hotel? An old school type hotel in Vijayapura Town serves usual breakfast dishes like Chowchow bath, Daily Changing Rice Bath and Masala Dose. And yes, filter coffee! Honestly saying, the dishes over here are exceptionally good. The legacy is continuing for 50 plus years.

During the last visit, they had Bisibelebath on the menu, so ordered without any second though. As the name says, it was super-hot and lip-smacking with loads of vegetables and decent spice level. It won’t be wrong to use the work “Best” for this BBB.

Next dish I tried was, Kesari Bath – People who has sweet tooth must definitely try this. The Kesari bath over here is non sticky, soft and literally forms a transparent ghee layer between the dish and patravali leaf. And, it just melts in the mouth.

Here comes the king of breakfast, Masale Dose – I guess Masala Dose is the fast selling dish across after Idli in South India. Here the Masala Dose is medium sized, bright, medium thick, crispy outside and soft inside. The dose stuffed with coconut & chutney and Palya. I am sure; every dosa lover will fall in love with the dose at Nani Hotel.

I have tried Puliyogare too. But, it wasn’t good and nothing to rave about. I would suggest you to avoid!

How to reach here? After crossing BIAL gate in Airport Road, you should get inside Devanahalli Town and take right turn (Kolar Road) after the Jain Temple in Devanahalli Town and drive for 10 kms to reach Vijayapura Town. Once you reach, take assistance from localities to reach the place.

Price for 2 people would be 150 INR

Overall, it’s must visit place
