It’s certainly not wrong to call our Bengaluru as “BreweryCapital” looking the number of breweries for last 2 to 3 years.
Well, I had gone to “The Bier Library” recently as per fewsuggestions about their Beers and Pizzas. Being a craft beer lover, I wouldalways wanted spend my valuable weekend with some great beers and food.
Ok, The Bier Library is one of the newest breweries in townwith some 6 craft beers on tap. Very Weiss, a German-style wheat beer with hintof banana and clove, and Ale-o-Drama, a double IPA with hints of guava andgrapefruit, to name few. I did stick to my Very Weiss, since its light andloved the flavors.
The place is an amalgamation of modern & rustic décor.Precisely, the place has got high ceilings, unfinished brick walls, huge barcounter, multi-story seating and koi pond. As the name says, they also got somegood collection of Books in the rack for every reader.
Coming to the food, they have good menu with local and international fare and the dishes perfectly pairs with beers. I got to try Chips Board, whichcontains Lotus Stems, Banana, Tapioca chips. This was the perfect accompany formy Very Weiss. Next it was Pickle Board! Sounds interesting? Yes, they servedifferent pickles with Khamiri Roti (Sourdough Bread) – Nothing can beat these2 starters to go with any kind of liquor. Probably, The Bier Library believethe saying “Think Global, Act Local”
Onion Rings, feel good factored dish for every vegetarian. And it’s not just onion rings, they have infused curry spice mix and made itexceptional. Trust me, it’s a must try and ranch dip is out of the world.
I am so obsessed with Galouti Kebebs, have tasted them by making out of Jackfruit, baked beans etc. In The Bier Library, they have madewith Mushroom. The taste is certainly great and just melts in mouth with mildflavors. Cheese Chili Toast was decent.
With regards to pizzas, they offer sans gluten nine-inchpizzas, (made with Tapioca flour), and cuts of 21-inch pizzas. I fell in lovewith their Linguria – The Pizza topped with Basil, Sauteed Spinach, SundriedTomato, Roasted Garlic, Olives and Parmesan. The Pizza base is totallydifferent from other places. Pizza Nero is something everyone must try. Thebase is made by infusing activated charcoal, which forms black coloured andtopped with burata and basil. One must definitely experience it.
Among all desserts, I just love the Serradura. It’s also called as Portuguese Sawdust Pudding. I haven’t tried the authentic one before. However, I liked this here and my meal will not be complete without Serradura.
Chefs Seemanta Baruah and Manjit Singh did a phenomenal job in curating such a fabulous menu, my special thanks to both of them.
The service was great and folks are very kind!
