Nobody says “No” to the street food; especially the metropolitan population, they love to eat street food as it is cost effective and tasty and worth compared to some of the eateries. We need to be cautious while having roadside food; water plays a crucial role in all the eateries. We are unaware of the type of water they use for cooking. Food that is served at fine dining restaurants might not taste as good as Street food and we can’t expect the same all the time. I was wondering why these star hotels can’t start a food we get at Street.
Recently, I was invited for a food tasting at the Fairfield Marriott in Rajajinagar, Bengaluru. I couldn’t hear properly when they invited over the phone, but after entering inside I noticed a “Poster” on Street Food Festival I was incredulous to try out my most favorite dishes.
They organized this street food festival at Kava; it’s one of the Budget buffet restaurants in Bangalore and well known for their best North Indian wide spread buffet. Basically “Street Food” is an Add-on to their great buffet. They decorated the restaurant decently with a touch of Street food counters like Goli Soda, Sugar Cane Juice, Ice Gola, Golgappa, Bhel Puri and Live Masala Dosa.
In recent times, we rarely see Goli Soda carts owing to modernization in Metro Cities. Every dish in the live counters is flawless and surely you will go for more. Being a South Indian and Vegetarian I love Dosa’s anywhere and here I noticed that folks at Dosa counters were preparing some customized dosa based on people requirement. The Best part is they had more than five varieties of Dosa batter to make different ones. Chef at the counter is very courteous and made best Masala dosa with different stuffing’s like Mushrooms, Green Chili, Pepper Seeds and extra red chili paste as per my requirement. Golgappas and Bhel Puri were splendid with Sweet, Spicy and Sour blends! Gulab Jamoon and Jalebi are another highlight dishes under Street Food Category!
They also had some Pav Bhaji and Kheem Pav, but couldn’t get an opportunity to try them.
Followed by the Street Food, there was a buffet that was again a typical North Indian Cuisine and taste remains consistent throughout my couple of Visits. Buffet had so many Veg & Non Veg starters, Main Course, Salads, Desserts and Ice Cream!
“Kava” has a beautiful and artistic décor with comfortable seating and colorful interiors and the view from the restaurant is breathtaking!
I had a very nice experience with my better half and special thanks to folks at Kava for their Hospitality and Service. You guys made my evening pleasurable!
Do visit to Kava for “Street Treats” or “Street Food Festival” and this is open till 31st May 2015.
