Skylit is one of the finest crafted roof top restaurants on Cunningham Road and listed under “Romantic Restaurants” category. I would say this is one of the beautiful restaurants with great ambiance and food without burning your pockets. Yes, food which served in the buffet is absolutely worth it. The restaurant has not disappointed Vegetarians too; in buffet they have 8 veg starters which definitely make me happy.
Well, I was invited to Chef. Table at Skylit and it was dedicated only to bloggers. It was organized in the evening. As soon as I reached Skylit, I was totally overwhelmed with the Blue light theme atmosphere, electric candle light on the dining table, High tables and I personally felt spectacular. View from the rooftop is breath taking!
Service was one of the USP’s for this roof top restaurant, people are courteous and quick in serving starters, here they serve starters to your table and main course & desserts are placed in Buffet counter. They have ample starters in Both Veg and Non Veg which I have never seen in any of the restaurants in Bangalore.
These are the starters which served on my table Peshawari Paneer, Chamman Ka Seekh, Aloo Pudina Tikki, Gilafi Tandoori Aloo, Mexican Grilled Veg, Veg Polenta, Cottage Cheese Saltier, and Veg Fajitas. I did not find any complaints in any of the starters and out of all I was impressed with Gilafi Tandoori Aloo, Veg Fajitas and Aloo Pudina Tikki.
I enjoyed an evening with a cool breeze on roof top with great hospitality and a wonderful dining experience. What else you would require to enjoy an evening with such a lovable food?
They do have a Bar counter with some Signature Cocktails and large LED Screen to enjoy sports & music, during my visit I got a chance to watch an IPL Match.
Being a food lover & blogger got a chance to interact with the Chef. Ashim Chakraborty, who is one of the best chefs in India for North Indian Cuisine and Bengali Sweets. He is very down to earth person and I could see his interest about gastronomies during our conversation. He worked in Saurav’s Maharaj restaurant (Saurav Ganguly’s restaurant) in Kolkata before.
Honestly, my tummy was almost filled with Starters but Biryani in the Buffet tempted me to try. I did not take Indian Breads, straight away filled my plate with Veg Biryani, Szechwan Noodles with Exotic Veg in Peanut Sauce, Kesari Paneer and Subz Lababdar.
Veg Biryani wasn’t authentic, but flavorful; I really don’t know the Magic behind the exotic aroma in it. I should really appreciate Chef for placing such a great Veg Biryani in the Buffet. In my experience I never had seen such a noble Biryani in Buffet especially.
Second dish in Main course which I tried was Szechwan Noodles with Exotic Veg in Peanut Sauce. Noodles weren’t spicy and had a great texture. I could feel the taste of Vietnamese cuisine essence with exotic veg in peanut sauce. I enjoyed both the dishes in the main course.
I use to be a Non Dessert lover; somehow I started tasting at least a bite now days to judge. Well, here the case was different. A Chef who prepared sweets is from Kolkata (Heavenly Place for Bengali Sweets). So decided to try out and I again fall in love with Champakali, Gajar Halwa and Basbousa. Lichi Pastry was good though!
It was a great experience to spend an evening with such a lovely food with food lovers and I strongly recommend this place for a dinner with loved ones!
Thank you “Skylit” for inviting me for this Chef Table.
