North West Frontier cuisine with a modern rendition – Kopper Kadai, Koramangala, Bangalore.

May 18, 2016

Koramangala has became a new happening place after Indiranagar in Bangalore for some of best eateries in the Town. In this vicinity, we can see from Street Food to Fine Dine Places and every restaurant is packed, though it’s a weekend or weekday. Under the fine-dine category, a new restaurant by name “Kopper Kadai” arrived to Jyothi Nivas College Road in Koramangala and right opposite Stoner Ice Cream. The restaurant dining area is classy, contemporary and a blend of Antiques, which gives a perfect & soothing experience to every diner.

The menu, tumbler and cutlery are more of Copper based and consuming water in copper tumbler has so many health benefits. The presentation of the dishes is again unique and never seen in any other restaurants before. The best part is, they have equal number of Vegetarian dishes along with Non-Veg, that’s sounds commendable for me being a Vegetarian. We were a group of 8 to 9 people, so I got an opportunity to try maximum number of chef recommended dishes.

The dishes here are curated and designed by Chef Akshay Nayyar, a celebrated chef, who is again enthusiastic, energetic, jovial, loquacious and passionate about his job. He is also been the host of Middle East’s biggest reality TV show Foodshala amongst other stints on Indian Television. He represented Melia at the World Gourmet Summit, Singapore 2013 and Abu Dhabi in 2014. He was trained under the guidance of stalwarts like Chef Marco Pierre White and Chef Sanjeev Kapoor and the Kopper Kadai, his first entrepreneurial venture that specializes in North West Frontier cuisine with a modern rendition of the ancestral Indian cuisine recreating recipes from as early as the 1930’s.

Before the dinner, I would personally recommend everyone to try out their Refreshing drinks like Patiala Wali Lassi, Kiwi Ambi Panna, KK Lemon Shikanji and Chatmola Fatafat. Every drink was a twist and they recall your childhood memories! When it comes to appetizers, I tried Kebab Gali Se, Sasron Ki Champey, Achari Hari Bhari Sheekh and Lucknowi Dahi Ki Shammi. Trust me, all these tastes brilliant and will not find any complaints with respect to taste and quality. These were cooked with a Love & Perfection! In Main Course, I tried a couple of Indian Breads with Warqi Dal E Dastaan and Kattiwari Tarkari followed by Tandoori Burnt Garlic & Vegetable Biryani, which tastes incredibly good without any doubt and every Veg Biryani lover can’t say no to it.

Our dinner ended with some of the Signature desserts like Dilli Wali Fruit Cream and Gulab Jamun Biskit. We got an excellent service from folks. Since, they were knowledgeable & polite! The overall experience was great and it’s an apt place to go for a date, family dinner and catching up with a Fusion North Indian Food. Will be visiting shortly by taking my family members!
