How about using a favorite fruit in our staple food? Well, recently I was part of the Jackfruit 365 Breakfast Meet at Grand Mercure, Bangalore. The meet was organized at “12th Main Restaurant” in Grand Mercure, which is one of the prestigious properties in the town and well known for the best in class hospitality. As I mentioned above, it was a breakfast meet, where all the dishes were infused with freeze dried unripe Jackfruit. I was lucky along with few other popular food bloggers and connoisseurs in the Town to be part of it. I never heard of infusing this Jack of fruit in our staple food until I tried some of the staple dishes. It’s not something very easy to prepare dishes made of Jackfruit for the first time. Since, there might be some variations with respect to taste and most challenging job is to impress guests. However, Chef. Sridhar Sigatapu did a brilliant job in curating the amazing dishes like Jackfruit Smoothie, Jackfruit Bonda, Jackfruit Galouti Kebab, Jackfruit Idly wrapped in leaves, Jackfruit Masala Dosa, Jackfruit seed curry, Jackfruit Appam, Jackfruit Paddu, Jackfruit Pancakes, Jackfruit Egg Curry and Jackfruit Waffles.

Coming to the breakfast dishes, we dint sense the jackfruit flavor in all the dishes except smoothie. That’s something good for the people who don’t like the aroma & flavor of jackfruit by keeping health prospective in mind. Out of all the dishes, I liked Paniyaram or Paddu topped with Peanut butter chutney, Galouti Kebab, Masala Dosa and Pancakes. Whenever I walk in to any restaurant and dine with my non veggie friends, they will not miss to order the Mutton Galouti Kebab and I love the texture of this dish. However, being a vegetarian, I never attempted to try. But this meet fulfilled my wish by curating the Galouti Kebab made out of Jackfruit.

The Jackfruit is also called as Vegetable Mutton as per some of the latest studies!

Since Jackfruit is a seasonal fruit and will not be available though out the year. So, Jackfruit 365 did an amazing job in serving the Freeze Dried Jackfruit and these are Premium Quality and Hygiene Assured. Jackfruit 365 product is available through http://www.amazon.in/dp/B01BOW8MAM

Note: The 180 gms of unripe freeze dried jack-fruit will become 1 kg, after soaking in a water.

It was an unforgettable breakfast meet and I would like to thank Jackfruit 365 Team, Mr. James Joseph, Chef. Sridhar Sigatapu and The Grand Mercure Team for having us!
